Managing Your Manger

Over the past few weeks, I have received alot of questions from my coaching clients regarding ways to effectively "manage" one's manager. Over the next few days, I will share a tip a day along with an action that will help you "manage your manager".

1. Anticipate your Manager's Needs
The more you can predetermine your manager's needs (i.e. information, planning, etc.), the better reflection it will have on you. By doing this, it will create a proactive rather than a reactive management relationship. Put yourself in your manager's shoes. What are his/her expectations? issues? concerns?

Action: How well do you anticipate your manager's needs? Rate yourself on a scale from 1-10. What ways can you do better?
